Innovative solutions in optical communication developed with national technology will be Padtec’s main attraction at Futurecom 2014 which takes place from October 13 to 16, at Transamerica Expo Center, in São Paulo. Throughout the event, the biggest in Latin America in the TIC area, the company will present its broad portfolio of products for high-capacity optical transmission systems ranging from optical backbone (submarine and terrestrial) to modern access solutions for offices and homes (FTTH).
One of Padtec’s new releases at this Futurecom is OTN Switch, a solution which adds flexibility to DWDM optical transmission networks (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing), for which Padtec has great expertise and a solid product portfolio. With OTN Switch, Padtec’s LightPad Platform gets new functionalities to join and commute traffic with higher granularity and support for several protocols and charges, besides protection alternatives for optical paths.
Recommended for using in backbones and metropolitan networks, Padtec’s OTN Switch is capable of joining and managing traffic flow in a selective way, rationalizing the effective occupation of DWDM systems’ transmission capacity. “Therefore, it is a solution which contributes to a more effective use of transport networks and meets companies’ current need to adjust their networks to the growing band demand and to new traffic profiles”, states Argemiro Sousa, Padtec’s Business Director.
Available in compact and high-capacity versions, OTN Switch incorporates important functionalities of joining and routing sub-lambda traffic to Padtec’s LightPad Platform.
