Wave length transponders are equipment which allows an optical transmitter wavelength conversion to a wavelength that compiles with the C or DWDM grid.
Unidirectional and bidirectional models are available, and they can work as power amplifiers, pre-amplifiers, wavelength operating window adapters for operation along with commercial amplifiers and multimode singlemode converters. They are also used for wavelength division multiplexing.
