In recent years Optical Networks technologies have been through great development and evolution. The current research advances in the area resulted in new demands for resources use optimization and network efficient operation aiming at developing and proposing advantageous mechanisms to the Industry. To attend these new demands, new paradigms of routing and resources allocation solutions have emerged in the research community.

This workshop brought together researchers and academia to present and discuss latest developments and current scientific work regarding innovative solutions for routing and resources allocation in Optical Networks.

The main topics discussed were:

  • Elastic Optical Networks
  • Routing and Spectrum Assignment
  • SDN for Optical Networks
  • New Paradigms Routing in Optical Networks
  • Optical Virtual Networks
  • Optical networks with terabits per second transmission (superchannels)
