From southern Mexico to Panama and throughout Colombia, the networks provided by Padtec increase UFINET’s service offering.
Seeking to increase its range of services, the Carrier of Carriers UFINET, has expanded its network capability with new Padtec DWDM equipment. Its international network communicates all countries throughout Central America, from southern Mexico, through Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. In addition, a network has been deployed in Colombia with extensive coverage in the national field.
Hundreds of equipment provided by Padtec to UFINET are based on OTN transponders, which provide better performance for transparent optical transport, as well as next-generation ROADMs, allowing greater flexibility and capacity to adapt to changing traffic networks.
“Our aim is to be close to our customers and understand their needs. The equipment provided to UFINET in its DWDM Networks is an example of this, as it is prepared to support various applications, from Ethernet to SDH-based legacy applications. The equipment supplied is made with state of the art technology and perfectly meet current demands for resilience and performance of networks,” says Jorge Salomão Pereira, president of Padtec.
Altogether, Padtec has deployed more than 13,000 km of DWDM network to UFINET, which broadens its range of services and the expansion of its business. The network has been designed with plenty of protection mechanisms and with the vision of a future expansion by adding more channels. Furthermore, new links are in the design phase and should be illuminated in the coming months to enlarge high capacity footprint.
