
Cutting edge illumination of a 356-mile route connecting Miami to Jacksonville with the LightPad i6400G
New Orleans, LA – July 16, 2015 – Padtec, a global manufacturer and solutions provider of turnkey optical solutions, announces today its partnership with Allied Fiber, the United States’ first open-access, integrated, network-neutral colocation and dark fiber superstructure. The partnership allows Padtec to demonstrate its flagship DWDM platform, the LightPad i6400G, which supports metro, long-haul, and ultra long-haul architectures whilst enabling up to 13 Tbps across its coherent 100Gbps transponders.
The network designed by Padtec employs coherent 100Gbps transponders to light a dark fiber pair along the 356-mile route in Florida, between Jacksonville and Miami on Allied Fiber’s superstructure. In order to ensure a single digital line segment on this route, Padtec is deploying its latest generation amplifiers that ensure extended span lengths via their very low noise figure. The solution is characterized by its high capacity, reliability, and flexibility, allowing hassle free network growth.
