WIXNET increases DWDM network capacity with Padtec’s 800 Gb/s transponder

WIXNET, a São Paulo telecommunications service provider, is investing to increase the transmission capacity of its DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) network between key cities in the states of Minas Gerais and São Paulo. The objective is to continue meeting the market’s communication demands with quality and, for that, the provider is incorporating Padtec’s generation of 800 Gb/s transponders into its network, which combines high data transmission capacity with lower cost per bit transmitted.

The network connects the municipalities of Barueri, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, and Muzambinho, in the interior of Minas Gerais, for a total length of over 500 kilometers. With it, the provider’s intention is to expand the transmission capacity of its DWDM network which will allow it to increase the offer of broadband services in the region. “To survive and stand out in this market, it is essential to be able to adapt quickly to changes and respond flexibly to current and future customer demands, using solutions capable of preparing networks to meet these requirements. This is the case with Padtec’s 800 Gb/s transponders”, points out Fernando Silva, COO of WIXNET. “This solution allowed us to quadruple the capacity of our networks, which jumped from 100 to 400 Gb/s, and with a lower cost per transmitted bit”, he adds.

“We live in a fast-paced world, where users have increasing demands for bandwidth and want on-demand services”, notes Carlos Raimar, Padtec’s CEO and Investor Relations Officer. “Our commitment is to provide for our customers, and their users, increasingly advanced resources for a unique connectivity experience”, he emphasizes. Padtec’s generation of 800 Gb/s transponders can be financed through credit lines offered by the company to providers such as WIXNET.
