Padtec announces partnership with Arrcus with a focus on new segments of the communication network market

With the software from the North American company, the Brazilian supplier will offer a complete solution in switches and routers for large data centers and core/edge networks.

– Padtec, a leading manufacturer of optical transport systems, has just signed a commercial partnership with Arrcus, the hyperscale networking software company and a leader in core, edge, and multi-cloud routing and switching infrastructure. The agreement is part of Padtec’s strategy to expand its portfolio of products and services, offering an end-to-end solution for communication networks, in addition to expanding its operations into new market segments as such as data centers (hyperscale) and for the infrastructure of edge networks.

With this objective, last year the Brazilian supplier entered into a partnership with UfiSpace, from Taiwan, aiming to offer its line of switches and routers throughout Latin America. “These are equipment that meet the trends of disaggregated and open networks, a current demand in the Brazilian and Latin American markets”, says Argemiro Sousa, Chief Operations Officer for Equipment at Padtec.

Arrcus’ network operating system (ArcOS) also meets this trend and allows Padtec to complement its portfolio in the area of IP switches and routers, entering new market segments. “With Arrcus’ software, the intention is to bring UfiSpace’s solutions to the hyperscale data center and core/edge network markets as well,” adds Argemiro.

Arrcus, which is headquartered in San Jose, California, further expands its presence in the Latin American region with this partnership – the first in Brazil. “Padtec is a company with a strong presence in Brazil and Latin America, known for providing very high-capacity communication solutions for network infrastructure”, said Shekar Ayyar, Chairman and CEO of Arrcus. “This partnership will help expand Arrcus software solutions into key segments of this market, amplifying our impact and reach”, he concludes.

Shekar reinforces that Arrcus’ network operating system is the industry’s most flexible, open and programmable network operating system. “ArcOS is a scalable, agile, cognitive OS that is microservices-based, with internet-scale routing support, fabric-wide telemetry and standards-based APIs for programmatic access. Whether deployed on-premises, containerized, or in the cloud, ArcOS seamlessly integrates with any hardware, offering a consumption model that ensures the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO)”, explains the executive. “In aligning with this trajectory, ArcOS enables Padtec to advance its capabilities and complement its offerings in a rapidly evolving landscape”, he concludes.
