With the capitalization transaction, valued at R$ 5.6 million, LEV Brasil becomes part of Padtec Marine Networks, a new business unit dedicated to projects for river and submarine networks.
Padtec Holding S.A. (B3: PDTC3) has concluded the acquisition process of LEV Brasil, a company specialized in applied geosciences, marine engineering, and environmental licensing. The transaction, valued at R$ 5.6 million, involves the acquisition of 85% of LEV Brasil’s share capital, and the company will now become part of Padtec Marine Networks (PMN), Padtec’s new business unit focused on the development and implementation of submarine and river infrastructure projects. The move strengthens the company’s position as the leading one-stop-shop provider in this segment in the Brazilian and Latin American markets, offering services ranging from project design and integration to deployment and support.
Padtec’s new business unit offers a comprehensive value proposition for underwater network projects at a time of strong global expansion in demand for high-capacity connectivity, driven primarily by the rapid growth of Artificial Intelligence ecosystems, data centers, and digital services. “The combination of our expertise in high-capacity terrestrial optical systems with LEV Brasil’s specialized capabilities creates a unique offering for highly complex coastal and river submarine projects in Latin America,” says Carlos Raimar Schoeninger, CEO of Padtec.
Raimar highlights that Padtec Marine Networks is being established as a neutral and collaborative integrator, capable of providing – through partner suppliers – the solutions required for the implementation of complete projects. “Our main goal is to simplify companies’ journey toward underwater connectivity by offering a single partner,” explains the executive. With this approach, the company aims to serve telecommunications operators, digital service providers, data centers, hyperscalers, utilities, energy companies, and also government initiatives related to connectivity and the protection of critical infrastructure.
PMN’s executive leadership will be headed by Antonio Badagola, who previously served as LEV Brasil’s general director. Founded in 2016, the company has experience in multidisciplinary projects involving planning, environmental licensing, geotechnical and geophysical studies, coastal and submarine engineering, construction supervision, installation, monitoring, and protection of cables and pipelines in marine and coastal environments.
With PMN, Padtec returns to the submarine optical systems market, where it has built a significant track record. Among its highlighted projects is the deployment, in 2016, of Cabo Júnior, which aimed to connect Santos (SP) and Rio de Janeiro (RJ) through a submarine network equipped with optical repeaters developed by the company
