With an eye on the future, Padtec decides to adopt hybrid and fully remote working models post-pandemic

The decision affects at least 70% of the current workforce of 700 employees and allows for the hiring of people from various parts of Brazil and the world.

Padtec, a leading manufacturer of optical transport systems, has decided to adopt, as of January 2022, hybrid and totally remote work models for the group of employees who can carry out their activities in this setting – in particular, those who work in the administrative, commercial and research and development areas. Of the company’s total workforce of 700 employees, in Brazil and abroad, 70% will work in the hybrid model, working from a home office for at least three days a week.

The decision is based on studies and research carried out internally with employees during the period of social isolation of the Covid-19 pandemic. “The experience with full-time remote work brought a series of learnings, which turned into a new way of looking at corporate life at Padtec”, says CEO Carlos Raimar. “With this in mind, the company’s facilities in Campinas were renovated in order to create an environment of interaction, innovation and integration for face-to-face and remote work in the post-pandemic period” highlights the executive.

Raimar explains that the goal is to foster a collaborative work environment that combines the best of both worlds – virtual and in person – in addition to respecting the nature and differences of each employee and work activity. For this, the company is counting on an operation with decentralized tasks, performed by talent spread across Brazil – and around the world – using technology as a means of implementation.

“To work in our research and development areas, for example, it will no longer be necessary to be in Campinas (where Padtec is headquartered) or São Paulo” emphasizes the executive. “We can recruit talent from other hubs and locations that are known for technology, which brings diversity, inclusion and better quality of life for each employee. We go where the talent is”, adds Raimar.
